Store position

The three positions

Each store is placed against the middle store in its brand, using sales for the same dates.

  • Below. Under 80% of the middle store's sales.
  • Typical. 80% to 120%.
  • Leading. Over 120%.

A brand with no other comparable store shows No comparison.

Guardrails

  • Hourly labor 5 or more points above the brand's middle store lowers the position by one.
  • A customer rating under 3.8 keeps a store from Leading, but only with at least 20 recent reviews.
  • Missing data never counts against a store. Without labor or recent reviews, the label reads as sales only, such as Leading sales.

What it does not mean

Leading does not mean most profitable. Position is context. It is not, on its own, a reason for a lever.
